Twilight Zone

The Twilight Zone was a weekly anthology series that ran for 5 seasons, from 1959-1964. Under the guise of science fiction, Rod Serling was able to make commentary about people, politics and the social conscience that would otherwise have gained him criticism and resulted in censorship from studio executives and sponsors.

Out of 156 episodes, Serling wrote 92 of them himself while also acting as executive producer for the show. His role in casting helped launch the careers of many famous stars whose debut role was in the Twilight Zone. Among these stars were Robert Redford, Robert Duvall, Dennis Hopper, Mickey Rooney and Jack Klugman.

Rod Serling received 2 Emmys as a writer for the Twilight Zone series.
